Ninth India-Thailand Joint Commission meeting held

The ninth India-Thailand Joint Commission meeting was held today in Bangkok. Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramud Winai and India's Foreign Minister S. Co-chaired by Jayash. After the meeting, Mr. Jayashkar tweeted that there was a successful discussion to enhance bilateral relations. During the discussion, both countries presented various proposals on political, economic, security, defense, communication and health issues.

The two countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Mr. Jayash has met Indian immigrants. He informed the immigrant Indians about the achievements and hopes and aspirations of New India. He welcomed their contribution to India's development. He thanked India-Thailand Merchants Association for organizing this joint commission meeting.

 

Addressing the expatriate Indians in Bangkok on this occasion, Mr. Jayash informed about the rising cost of world energy due to Russia-Ukraine war. He supported India importing crude oil from Russia. He said, India's relationship with ASEAN is the main pillar of the country's foreign policy.

 

In the meeting held today, 2 MoUs were signed between the two parties. One memorandum of understanding was signed on health and medical research cooperation and another between Prasarabharti and the Public Broadcasting Service of Thailand.
